Saturday, May 9, 2015. Well, I have taken the plunge and decided to do something proactive with my small business, I decided to invest in myself. I have joined a group of really wonderful, like minded folks at 14th Street Antiques and Interiors in midtown. And I have the distinction of being their first solo artist gallery,. that is, I have only my original contemporary art inventory displayed, no furniture. I spent most of the day setting up Andrew Portwood Studio Gallery.

My final show is now installed. The culmination of two years of practical engagement and academic research. The work on the walls have been produced rapidly over the last 2 months but they are not end results they are exploratory experiments. Below me and my friend Harry are hanging the work, deciding on the best positioning, difficult with work this scale. Thankfully the people around me have been wonderfully supportive helping me feel more positive.
